Six Hong Kong teenagers suffered heatstroke when hiking on Tuesday and had to be taken to hospitals by helicopters.
The group of seven began hiking in the New Territories, about 11 am. After four hours, six of them started to feel dizzy and were unable to walk. Firemen arrived after receiving a call for help. A helicopter was summoned to take them to hospitals because the area was inaccessible to vehicles.
報道說，上周二，有6名中學生徒步旅行新界時，因高溫而中暑。
由報道可知，“中暑”相應(yīng)的英文表達為“heatstorke”。若“中暑”是受陽光直接爆曬而引起，也可表達為“sunstorke”。
此外，日常生活中，我們更宜接觸“輕度中暑”，其相應(yīng)的英文表達為“heat exhaustion”或“heat prostration”（直譯：因受熱而引起虛脫）。與“heatstroke/sunstroke”相比，“heat exhaustion/heat prostration”一般不會引起生命危險。
另外，日常會話中，若想表達“熱得難受”、“熱得喘不過氣”，可用“swelter”一詞，如：Open the window. It's sweltering today.（打開窗子，今天熱得要命。）
